Family Ministry

Family events are scheduled frequently throughout the year where all ages can enjoy coming together in faith and fellowship.  Many events are also open to friends, neighbors and our community.

Oktoberfest
In the fall House of Hope hosts an annual Oktoberfest celebration. This festive celebration features German food, beer, live music, and games for the children.  This is community event, and all are welcome for food fun and fellowship!

Lutefisk Dinner
This annual event, held the first Friday in November, is a Scandinavian feast with lutefisk, meatballs, lefsa and many traditional dessert treats. Because of the popularity of the events tickets are sold for several separate settings and go on sale in early October.  (Please note: During Covid period 2020-2021 we were unable to host this event.  Please watch for updates, we are hoping to resume in the future!)

Quilting
Twice monthly a group of members meets to make quilts which are given to local charities, disaster victims, and Lutheran World Relief.

Prayer Shawl & Prayer Squares Ministry
This ministry creates beautiful shawls made by members of House of Hope as a gift of love to the recipient. The shawl is meant to symbolize the love and embrace of God. Each shawl is prayed over and those that receive the shawls continue to be held in prayers. The prayer squares are smaller knitted, crocheted or sewn to be given as a tangible expression of prayer and concern.  Please contact the church office if you would like to become involved in this ministry or receive a prayer shawl or square.

Small Jobs Maintenance Crew "SJMC"
The "SJMC" is made up of men who meet each Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m.-noon for fellowship, treats and an agenda of things that need "fixing" around the church and grounds.

Golf
From May -August golfers are invited to participate each Wednesday evening House of Hope league, Fun on the course and a little socializing after.  If you are interested in golfing, contact the church office to find out more.

Other Service and Mission Opportunities
We have many members who give generously of their time and resources. There has been participation with projects locally such as Habitat for Humanity and outside the country including Belize, Central American Mission Trip and New Orleans relief work. We have also participated in the "Operation Christmas Child" shoebox project each year at Christmas time. If you interested in serving on a short-term project and want to know about current opportunities or trips in the works, please contact Pastor Rode.

Other Fellowship and Discipleship Events
May small groups such as Serendipity and life support groups meet regularly in members' homes or coffee shops for support and fellowship. If you are interested in being a part of a small group, please contact Pastor Rode
